Monday students spent one week testing the influence of individual variables such as diameter of wheels and the weight of the vehicle on the distance traveled. Teams shared their results, then spent the second week designing and building vehicles based on those results.

Lightning (shown below), designed and built by A.D. ( 4-1) and S.S. (2-2), was a consistent performer, traveling about the same distance each time, with an average distance over 100 cm better than any other car's single best trial.
