Atomic Adventures focused on the elements (names, symbols and atomic numbers) and the periodic table which is the way scientists organize them. We played lots of games to learn...
GeTeams of four students played "Go Fish" using the element families, "Memory" where students matched symbols with names, "Chutes and Ladders" using the periodic table rather than a number grid, a "Dice Game" to create atomic numbers mathematically, "ATOM", our version of Bingo, and a classic word search. We finished a 6 x 8 foot periodic table begun in the fall of 2013, each student completing the entry for an element. We also sent home "Elemental Cafe", which challenged students to decipher a menu by replacing the names of elements with their symbols. George K. Answered that challenge, bringing
